2009 Freeholder Candidates


Stacy Jennings


Stacy has been married for 23 years to Patrick Jennings and they have one daughter, Olivia. Before Stacy started working as a professor at Salem Community College, she worked at Educator St. James & Bishop Guilfoyle Regional Elementary school. Stacy also managed the White Oaks Motel, as well as being a correspondent for WJIC Radio. Stacy graduated from Wilmington College with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters in Organizational Leadership. She later attended Trenton State College, where she received a degree in political science. Stacy has served on the Board of Directors for Seven Mile Island Stars and Chairwomen College Republican Committee.

Ben Laury


Ben attended Drexel University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with honors, as well as becoming a licensed professional engineer. Ben served on the Elmer Board of Education as President for 5 years, as well as serving on the Elmer Borough Council and was President in 2008. Ben was also a member of the Elmer Planning Board. Ben has also been a Rotarian for 24 years and is the owner of Laury Heating. He has been married to his wife Kathy for 31 years and they have two children, Brittany and Timothy.



County Clerk


Gilda Gill


Gilda is a Certified Public Manager and a Certified Municipal Clerk. She is the Founder of Salem County Municipal Clerk & Treas. Association and a Certified Municipal Finance Officer. Gilda attended Rutgers University and Salem Community College. Presently, she has been the Salem County Clerk for 10 years, and she was also the Penns Grove Municipal Clerk and Chief Finance Officer for 16 years. Gilda has been married for 50 years to Morgan Gill and they have three children, Terry, James and Gina, as well as 9 grandchildren. She is a member of many associations including: Penns Grove Rotary, Marine Corp League, and Shores Girl Scout Council.



County Sheriff


Chuck Miller


Chuck has been Sheriff of Salem County from 2007 to present. He has also been a part of S.C. Prosecutors Office Chief of County Investigators, the past President NJ Detectives Association, and the past President South Jersey Narcotics Officers Association. Chuck has been with the Salem City Police Department 5 years, the Salem County Prosecutors Office for 10 years, and the Salem County Dept. of Homeland Security 2 yeas. He is a member of the National Sheriff’s Association, New Jersey Sheriff’s Association, Penns Grove Masonic Lodge #54, and the FBI National Associate Member. Chuck has been married to Daphne Miller for 25 years. Together, they have two children, Lauren & Charlie.
